A jungle is land covered with dense vegetation. Application of the term has varied greatly during the last several centuries, both because of this ambiguity in the application of the term and its use in popular culture. Jungles in European and Western literature often represent a less civilised or unruly space outside the control of civilisation because of its association in colonial discourse with places that were colonised by Europeans.
Mixing up blended loops of gamalan music, trumpeting elephants, growling dinosaur wolverine creatures and exotic percussion instruments. I have figured out how to use this Mac program called Soundtrack Pro (part of Final Cut Studio), usually I am making visual animations and editing video and such, but now that I am figuring out I can choose rhythms based on a 4, 8, 12, 16 or whatever, choose the lengthof time the rhythm repeats (how many measures) and than layer all the sounds together. So As I was playing around, found myself composing a music piece and the visuals involve dancers, and fire fans and poi, so perhaps the next fire performance-art I do, will actually have music created by me .. hmm..... interesting The story you tell so well reminded me of another young bear cub that had been in a major forest fire in New Mexico, pitifully hanging on to a tree. It had lost its mother, and was bawling for some kind of attention. Two US Forest Service firefighters brought the cub back to their base, and fed it, made it comfortable, until it became probably the most pampered bear in history, living its life (and a long one at that) at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. That bear became more than a saved cub, it became a symbol for my generation, as it was anthropomorphized into cartoon form....yes, that's right.....the bear's name: Smokey.
If the animal rights activists would just shut up and pay attention, they might see the endless possibilities and the humanity coming through.I think what the problem here really is, is that EXTREMISTS on ANY side tend to miss all the details and subtle nuances of issues: it's either black or white with them. So... WHO are the proverbial sheep, really? Extremists. Plain and simple. A group of sheep working together as one milling, chaotic mob to trample on any and all others' views....
I prefer living life and viewing all issues on a 'case by case' basis. Because although we are ALL connected, interconnected, etc., some of us in more ways than others, to each other on this planet, we and our issues are unique and deserving of individualized attention. Nice idea in theory, I know, but purely unrealistic.
